  Eglin makes this beach available to the public from sunrise to sunset. This is the place to go when you want to dodge the crowded beaches of Destin during spring break. No dogs, no glass, no alcohol, and you must get a (free) pass from the air force base (see details on my photo of the sign at the access point). From here you can walk west all the way to the Okaloosa pier. You might need to use the facilities at Beasely park (you can't miss the big pavilions). You can also walk east to the Destin east pass then exit back up to 98 by following the western shore of the East Pass. One of the best places to pull off the road and go for a walk on the beach.
